Sustainable Food System Discussion Forum
In April 2011, 340 practitioners with diverging interests across the food supply chain came together in Melbourne at the National Sustainable Food Summit to share ideas and inform a vision of Australia's food system in 2030. This year's Summit generated extraordinary consensus for the need to collaborate and continue the conversations necessary to transform Australia's food system.
On 2-4 April 2012, 3 Pillars Network will convene the 2nd National Sustainable Food Summit in Sydney.
In preparation for the Summit, you are invited to join a 'conversation' which identifies the key assumptions and changing constructs that might underpin a future sustainable food system.
Who is involved
This conversation is jointly led by 3 Pillars Network, The Sustainable Food Lab, Net Balance Foundation, and the Asian Foresight Institute. We would like to thanks The Biogenesys Project for allowing us to host the discussion group on their platform.
How the conversation is structured
- Our team will post a number of 'conversation threads'
- Participants are encouraged to like/dislike and to comment on discussion points. What we are looking for are those ideas that will move us all as quickly as possible to this future sustainable system.
- This process will be facilitated by Mike McAllum and Cameron Neil (Net Balance) with vital technical support from Net Balance.
- We have formed an advisory group who will review the conversation and help frame the input. While others may be added to the group, brief profiles are below.
- The ideas developed through our conversations will feed into the National Sustainable Food Summit for further review and comment.
Who can participate
We aim to provide an inclusive mechanism that engages all practitioners with an interest in the future of our food system.
